Olivia's First Official Word!!!!!!

So, don't get me wrong, she's been saying dada and mama for weeks, and lately she's been rambling off a whole bunch of something - we're not sure what. It's actually become a fun game we play trying to guess what she's saying. All morning she kept saying something that sounded either like "What's up" or "Shut up". So I was like, "I don't know whether to spank you or high five you." But this afternoon, while we were celebrating Aunt Julie's birthday, she said the first clear word that we all understood. It may not be clear to you from this video, but when we heard her say it the first time, it was clear as day. Try and make it out for yourself first. . .

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, you heard correctly. She said "SISTER"! It's really no surprise that this would be her first word because she clearly LOVES Juliana way more than she loves anything or anyone. Of course the first times she said it (before the camera came out) were far clearer, but hey, what can you do. And yes, that is Juliana, laid up in her recliner and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

And here is a cute picture of Aunt Julie with her cake. No, there is no trick photography involved. The cake was a bit lopsided. Those eye look familiar. Wait, isn't that the famous Olivia face?

Chuck E. Cheese!!!!!

Well, about a month ago, I decided it would be a great idea to take the girls to Chuck E. Cheese, over spring break and on the weekend. I know, I was completely unaware of how crazy/stupid that was. So we made it in the door, got our lovely black light stamp and then made an immediate about face and headed for the door. I am quite certain that they had officially exceeded the maximum capacity for that building, I'm not sure how they managed to fit all of Irving, TX in there. So you can imagine that even turning around with my double stroller was a bit of a challenge. After we left I swore I would never return to that germ ridden claustrophobic nightmare. So now, fast forward a little over a month and here we are. We were supposed to go to a birthday party that started at one, but as anyone that has little ones knows, sometimes it just doesn't happen. We made it to the park just as they were cleaning up. So I felt bad that the girls had missed out on the party and in a moment of insanity I suggested we stop at a Chuck E. Cheese that we has passed on the way to the park. I'm happy to report that we actually stayed this time!
This was Olivia's First ride. I think Barney was creeping her out.
Here's Big Sister. Of course, she's cool with Barney.

Ride #2 = Still a "Doubting Thomas" and "Cool Big Sister"

I think Olivia was ok with Chuck. She just needed to make sure everyone knew she was driving!

And this is the picture I love where my sweet little girls turned into Thelma & Louis!

I think Louis (A.K.A. Olivia) just got scolded by Thelma for going too fast!

So, needless to say, I guess we'll be back. . . just maybe not during major school holidays.

Busy Easter Weekend!

Well, it started off with a big day for our little Olivia. Yes, you guessed it. . . she got her first pig tails. It was adorable, although I'm not sure why, or how it's possible, but the pigtails actually made her look more mischievous than normal. Check for yourself.

Next on the agenda - Andrew, calm down. You did make the "Chronicles". The girls were very excited to see their friends home from college. Micki & Andrew were home from Austin and Risa came from Denton. They really miss you guys!

So, Easter morning came and I think that Olivia was still a bit confused about the bunny and basket. She'll get it soon enough. Juliana was very excited to see what the bunny had brought her and very willing to share with her Aunt Teresa.

Next came church where they got to wear the beautiful dresses that Omi sent. Don't they look like little dolls? Too bad they didn't act like dolls while we were in church.

This next picture is one of only a few "family photos". I guess since we are always taking the pictures we don't often take one of us all together. Too bad we didn't take the picture before we took off the beautiful dresses
So along with great friends that day, we also enjoyed GREAT DESSERTS! Gale made the most amazing Bunny Cake and I can't believe we didn't get a picture of it, but Lindsay made a most wonderful carrot cake from scratch!

So after some delicious "Dirty Burgers" and Bunny Cake we headed out for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Some people had some help! No fair Andrew!

So, the majority of the eggs were "cascarones" or confetti eggs that we proceeded to crack on each others head. There were however some special plastic eggs that only four gangstas had the pleasure of finding. Check out "da grill"!
Frankly I think that Juliana thought we were all crazy. She was too busy swinging to pay us any attention.
