And here are the traditional 1st day of school pictures for the 2013-2014 School year.

Olivia was just a little excited to be going to Kindergarten at M.C. Lively.  Especially because she gets to wear a uniform!!!

Although Juj didn't seem excited, she really was glad to be back at school!  These are my girls getting ready for bed and a little giddy

Shadow Puppets at the DMA

So the Dallas Museum of Art has these Saturday classes for kids, that are completely free and so much fun.  This Saturday was . . . . . . . Shadow Puppets.  First we started off by getting a little creative with some foil.

Then we started on our Shadow Puppets.  Liv and I made this doggie

And Roger and Juliana made this little girl who had some boss hip hop moves!

Then we looked around at some art.
 Good Times!

Roomies

So, several months ago, Liv decided to move upstairs because she was sharing a bed with Juliana and literally could not take the grinding any longer.  So she moved upstairs and all was bliss.  Until the nightmares started.  Ugh the nightmares.  Then it was a fight every night to get her to bed.  Which is partly why we adopted Grace.  So that she could sleep upstairs with Liv, but Grace is a puppy and that just won't be possible for another couple of years:(  So for a few weeks in the summer, she had some fun sleeping on a sleeping bag in Juliana's room again.

A New Adventure

So, this year, after so much deliberation, I decided to make a change.  To try something new.  So I quit my job! AHHH!!!! I know, so scary.  But I am going to try my hat as an Education Consultant.  It keeps in education, which I love and am so passionate about, but it gives me new challenges and pushes me to new limits!  I get to work with different districts and see how they operate, the dynamics of each place.  I have two great bosses who are great to work for and I think I will learn so much from them.  So far I love it!  Here are some pics from my first out of town project!  Driving in the panhandle of TX!

BTSS - Back to School Shopping!

These girls are sooooo excited to be going back to school.  Liv is especially excited since she will be going to the same school as her big sister.

In addition to wanting to go to the same school as her sister, she also has been dying to wear glasses just like her big sister.  Thank you Target dollar bins!
She could be a back pack model!

1 more week till school starts!

Pool Party Surprise

This is one of my favorite things about summer.  So we through caution to the wind and decided to let the girls stay up late and have an evening pool party.  You would have thought they won the power ball.  Liv couldn't contain herself!
Despite Juju's face, trust me, she was excited.
Then after some swimming we roasted some marshmallows, because no summer swim party is complete without them.

Then Liv and I decided to stay out late and that's when a miracle happened.  Grace, or Disgrace as we affectionately call her, decided to jump up on the swing with us and snuggle.  This is for sure a first for our peppy puppy.
A perfect night.

Finding Your Strengths

So this summer Olivia decided to give dance a break and try her hat at ice skating.  I was fine with that idea, because truth be know, she was not the most graceful ballerina.  Before you hate, understand.  I am not saying she couldn't be a great ballerina, what I'm saying is that it didn't come naturally.  It would have taken some work on her part and frankly I don't think she cared that much.

So fast forward now to ice skating lessons.  Turns out you need some degree of grace in this sport as well.  She started out in a class of 5-8 year olds.  She was the youngest in the group.  She was also the only 5 year old, the rest were 8.  there is a huge difference in the motor skill ability of a 5 and 8 year old.  So she tried her best for a few lessons and it was pretty sad.  By about the third class her teachers moved her to the toddler class.  I was devastated for her.  Not because she was demoted, more so because I thought her ego would be highly bruised.

Turns out out her ego remained in tact and in fact she loved it.  In fact after that class she asked me if she could go to that class every time.  Not because it was any easier, no she still struggled.  She liked it because she was the oldest and she could help.  So every time one of these little toddlers fell, there came Liv to the rescue. So a skater she is not, but a helper she will always be.  Love that girl.

Hey Juj

So I'm K-LUVing my oldies and "Hey Jude" comes on. Liv asks "who sings this song?" I say The Beatles. After much thought she says "how did they know about Juj. It's really cool that they made a song for her. So it will now be forever "Hey Juj"

Love our Baby Izzie

Baby Izzie comes to visit on Saturdays and we love it!  She is at such a fun age.  She has her own personality - makes me miss my girls when they were this age.

 Always happy with her daddy!
