7th Annual Brooks' Pumpkin Carving Party!

This past Saturday marked our 7th year of hosting the Annual Pumpkin Carving Party/Contest. While we had fewer pumpkins this year, the competition was still fierce. The first pictures are of my sweeties. They dressed up as a dalmatian and Cruella DeVil. Can you guess which was which, I'll give you a hint, we dressed them to match their personalities. Ha ha.

Here is my sweet little puppy Juliana!

And here is Cruella a.k.a. Olivia. I'm not saying she is as mean as Cruella, but let's just say she has a very "strong" personality. She played the role very well, I guess it came a little bit natural.

She loved every minute in those heels! Work it girl!

These are all the pumpkin entries that we had this year. Not sure if you can tell, but we have a skeleton, Sponge Bob, an elaborate scene with a spooky tree, a ghost, a dragon and even Edward from the Twilight Series. Awesome job guys - can't wait to see what you come up with next year!

Hula Hoop Action!

I have to admit, this is all my fault. While we were gone to Houston, Aunt Teresa brought the girls a hula hoop. In my effort to show off my mad hula skills, I realized having two babies robs you of the ability you once had to maintain a hoop at your waist (or what used to be your waist) in mid air for any given amount of time. So in an effort to redeem myself I decided to show the family how I could whip that hoop around my neck. Here is a video of Olivia attempting the same trick. Do not try this at home! Pardon the darkness of the video, it was a spur of the moment type thing. No time to adjust the lighting.

The Girls Vacation from Mom & Dad

This past weekend we (Roger & I) had the pleasure of taking a break from everything and going to Houston to visit our friends Luis & Penelope. A HUGE thank you to all who made this possible for us. Shout out to Linda, Barbara, Teresa, Marisa, Gale & Lindsay. We had a great time - mostly because we didn't have to worry about our little ones. In fact, I think they might have had more fun than we did.

Here is Livi eating some grapes with Aunt Teresa in the background.

I think this is the exact moment that Olivia realized that we were gone. Don't worry Livi, you are in great hands!

Having a great time with their friend Risa!

Doesn't she look so big? I think they grew up in the two days we were gone!
Here is Livi riding Kota!

Juju playing some tunes!
Oh my gosh! Livi must be starving - she's eating her toys! Did they feed you? Ha ha!
My baby is not a baby anymore!

Swinging her bear - waiting for mom & dad to get home.

Here I am!
And Daddy too!

New Park!

Here are a few pictures of Juliana at a new park in Irving. It is totally handicap accessible and totally awesome. It wasn't completely finished the day we went, but it's really nice. We will post more pictures the next time we go. Can you tell that she loves to swing!
