Gettin' Ready For the Egg-Stravaganza!

Last night we started dying eggs for our Easter Egg-stravaganza! We started a tradition a few years ago, actually re-started the tradition from my childhood, of dying egg shells and filling them with confetti (also know as cazcarones).

Unfortunately we go started a little early so Juliana didn't last but through the first dozen.
Be careful Livi, egg shells break easy.
Daddy had a tough job. Juju's hands move fast!
Here is Olivia dying the last batch of eggs after Juliana went to bed. What a trooper!
3 1/2 dozen eggs done! We still have another 2 dozen left to dye.

Hope this dye comes off our hands! Why did I pick blue and green????

Read All About It!!!!

Here is Livi with her new easal that her Nino Ray & Nina Julia got for her. She has just started being interested in letters. And asking what letter is for Olivia, or mommy etc. So we had been doing our four names and I thought I would test her. Wow - I can't believe she got it.

A Friendship Rekindled

When Juliana was a baby (and before we entered into the Rett Syndrome nightmare) this little Leap Frog table was her absolute favorite toy. We would take the legs off and she would lay on her tummy and play forever. Those little tunes would play over and over in our heads and even in our sleep. So as we were cleaning out for the garage sale we had recently, we came across this old friend. You should have seen her eyes when we put the batteries in the music started playing. I guess you never outgrow some toys.

And yes, we are also happy to report that Juliana is doing much better. She has had 2 full nights of sleep and two days now without fever. Poor Olivia on the other hand is still fighting this bug. We hope she will be on the mend soon.

Fortunately & Unfortunately

Well, let me catch you up. For those of you that didn't know, unfortunately, Juliana has not been feeling well. For actually the past 3 weeks she has just not been herself. Lots of crying and moaning like she was in pain, not sleeping well through the night, just pretty miserable. We went to the Dr. twice. The first time she said that she may be developing an ear infection so we put her on an antibiotic, thinking "Fortunately we figured it out!" But unfortunately a few days later, things were worse. So we went back to the Dr. and turns out fortunately her ear was fine but unfortunately we couldn't figure out what was wrong. So fortunately, it finally dawns on us (sadly after almost 2 weeks) that it could be her teeth. Although she is 3, she has not gotten her 2year molars. So I bravely stick my finger back there and sure enough, her gums are totally swollen. So, Whoo HOO!!! Fortunately, we cracked the case. We gave her motrin and put her to bed. Unfortunately, she woke up with 102 fever and some stomach issues. So she stayed home with daddy yesterday and continued to run some fever throughout the day. Fortunately, she actually slept all night (first time in 3 weeks) and woke up with a much lower fever and a fantastic mood. Unfortunately, Olivia woke up this morning with 102 fever and a cough that sounded like the bark of a seal.

Fortunately, both girls are drinking plenty of fluids and Livi has gotten a lot of sleep in today.

Fortunately for daddy, my girls are such good patients and fortunately for my girls, their daddy is a great nurse!

Livi's Birthday - Take 2

Well, everyone has been so worried about Olivia's birthday. You know, when would we celebrate her birthday since she was born on leap year. Would we do it February 28th or March 1st. Well rest assured her 2nd birthday was well celebrated. But being a leap year birthday actually made things a lot easier since there wasn't an actual date, we celebrated on several occasions. This was the latest since all of our out of town family came into town (well except for Auntie Laura, Uncle Gary & Uncle Eddie but don't worry, we'll catch you at the Golf Tournament)

So here are some pictures of her beautiful Backyardigans Birthday Cake compliments to her Nina Julie & Nino Ray. You out did yourselves! And believe me it was just as delicious as it looked.
There's Tasha & Austin
There's Tyrone
There's Pablo
And of course it wouldn't be complete without Uniqua!
Isn't it adorable!

Here's Claudia & Donnie
Here's the Nina & the Nino with the girls
Roger with baby Tanner (future son-in-law)
Lindsay & Chris
Amy, Gale & Joe
Rachael with the Marsh's
Kayla, David, Aunt Melissa, Ty & David
Nick with Austin behind him.
Getting ready to sing "Happy Birthday"
Blowing out the candles!!! I can't believe she is such a big girl. She is growing up way to fast!!!
I think she loves all of the attention.
Some more of that delicious cake!
And of course she had to pick off each character and taste them. Here she was taking a bite out of Austin.
A little taste of Tasha
Here is skinny Uncle Danny!
Here is the birthday girl opening her gifts. Couldn't resist putting the bow on her head.
This is a gift from Auntie Laura.
And this one from Uncle Gary. She loves the little tiger cub but I don't think she fully trusts him. Every time he purrs or growls she gets kind of nervous. I can't blame her, it's pretty "life-like"
Here she is attempting to read the Olivia book that her Nina Julie and Nino Ray got her. I can't really help her since they got her the Latin version. That is Latin, not Latino. Big difference guys. Ha ha.
The girl loves presents!
This might have been her favorite gift. It was a Laundry Station from her Omi and Opi. Complete with washing machine, ironing board, broom with dust pan and mop. I love that it was her favorite gift. It won't be long until she can help for real!
Who's more excited, her or me?
This is another favorite of hers. Her dress up clothes.
This is her in a very cute dress that her friend Marisa MADE for her. With her pearls of course. And her dog that Auntie Laura gave her. I love that she loved this dog so much because this dog is named Harry and he is from a series of children's books that I absolutely adored as a child, Harry the Dirty Dog. If you've never read the books, I HIGHLY recommend them.
Look at Ms. Priss
Here is Ms. Priss ironing and working the Laundry Station.
These pictures were taken the next day. Juliana was enjoying Olivia's new bike and Livi was more than happy to share! I love these girls!!!!!!!!!
