Easter 2013

So, I suppose Easter Bunny listened to Olivia's message and decided to deliver awesome basket treats for all (even those who were a bit naughty - I won't mention any names Schmolivia)

Then if that wasn't enough, Olivia got to carry the bible for Children's Liturgy.

After church it was Easter lunch at Bucca de Beppo!  Yummy!

Gale Bunny also brought over some treats.  I think Juliana liked them!

And last but not least was confetti egg time!

Note to the Bunny

This was Olivia's last ditch effort at getting something good for Easter:

Sisters Rock

This is how sisters get ready for bed.  Love these little girls and love to see the love they have for one another.  Thank God for sisters!

Spring Break 2013

Spring Break!  Whoo Hoo!  Well, not exactly the spring break I remember in college.  Oh how times have changed.  So we loaded up the van and headed to San Antonio.
So, long story short, the theme to this trip was "Be Flexible".  Nothing horrible happened, it just wasn't what I had planned. For example the first night there I had planned to get there around 5:30 pm, check in our hotel and head to dinner. Perfect timing, right?  Wrong.  We had booked and paid for a suite, get to the hotel and guess what they are sold out of suites and are not going to refund our money.  So they basically want me to pay for a suite but stay in a standard room.  So after 1 hour and a half of being on the phone, we finally got the amount credited, then had to find a new room, blah blah, blah so by the time we got checked in to the new hotel and finally go dinner it was 8:30 pm with a 45 minute wait.  UGH.  And you know at that point anywhere we go will have a wait and all that is left to do is just sit down and WAIT!  Good thing I have really good travelers and it didn't bother them at all.

Okay, Juliana maybe getting a little annoyed

So the next morning we were off to Seaworld but not before our complimentary hotel breakfast!  Yummy

 Liv is ready!
 Checking heights first!

So, I am not hating on Seaworld.  I'm just saying that I think I have come to the conclusion that I am just not up to these kind of amusement park kind of things.  1. I don't like waiting.  And it's basically a whole bunch of waiting to wait.  2. I don't like being in a place with 20 million kids and parents that don't discipline their kids.  It makes the teacher in me come out and suddenly I'm on duty.  3. While Liv was amused with the shows, Juliana slept through every single show.  The only part she enjoyed were the few roller coasters they rode.  And guess what?  We live about 8 miles from 6 Flags Over Texas.  Whatever were we thinking.  Okay, enough complaining, we did have fun!

This is us after waiting for one hour so see the beluga show.
Roger and Juj taking a snooze after waiting another hour to see the Shamu show.  And p.s. - the weather was gorgeous and yet it was still too hot to be out in the sun for an hour at a time.  I can't possibly imagine what it feels like to go in August, but I can assure you I will never try.

My girls love them a carousel

I didn't realize that the water park was also open in March and people were actually swimming and getting wet in freezing cold water.  So Liv asked if she could just get her feet wet since we didn't bring her swim suit.  You know where this is going.  Getting her feet wet quickly escalated to a completely soaked child from head to toe.
But I think it was her favorite part.  This is what I love about this little girl.  She always has fun.  She went out there and got wet in freezing cold water.  She screamed and squealed and ran and made friends with everyone there.
And then we were ready to go.  Notice Liv changed. She might look like a rag-a-muffin, but at least she is dry.
And here is Roger insisting we stare into the bright sun so he can get a shot in front of the entrance.

So the last day we were supposed to go to the San Antonio Children's Museum, you know since we have a membership and it is accepted all over.  But we were already kind of grouchy, and we found the place which was in downtown San Antonio with the nearest parking lot charging $25 for parking and the museum itself so packed with people they had a line outside of people waiting to get in.  So needless to say we scratched that off the list and headed home.  But before we left San Antonio Roger decided we should make one last stop at Morgan's Wonderland.  Morgan's Wonderland is a park for special needs kids inspired by one very special girl named Morgan.  If you've never been it's worth a stop.

We started off at the amazing carousel and decided to stay on several times.  Notice how Juliana's horse has a back support.  So cool.

This was the Off Road Adventure.  They actually take these pictures while you are on the ride and then email them to you before you even get off the ride.

Then they have an incredible play area which is all wheel chair accessible.  And the swings were to die for.  Juliana LOVED the swing.  Too bad I didn't get any pics of her on it.  Roger also had fun on them!
Sisterly love while waiting in line. (don't know why these came out sideways.)
I love that Juliana had so much fun here.  She smiled the most here at Morgan's.  And a side note: Aren't the bracelets cool.  So when you go in the park everyone gets one and they are all linked together.  So at any time if anyone gets separated from the group, you simply go to one of the many computer stations and scan your bracelet and a gps will show you where you are and where your family is.  It is also what you scan to get pictures emailed to you.

Then they had a sensory house.  One room had a weather station.  Here is Olivia giving us the report.
They also had what looked like mechanical bulls to ride.
Go Ashley!
Good times.  Then on the way home Roger's sister Melissa met up with us for dinner at the O.G. and thank God she brought Ty with her.  Him and Olivia are inseparable.  And whenever they are together it is non-stop giggle.
Oh Aunt Melissa - We love you!

Ty and Liv were making mustaches from the straw papers.  We wanted to include Juliana so I made her one.  I don't think she was really all that impressed.
And from there it was home sweet home.  Lesson learned: 1. I'm old 2. Six Flags is right up the street:)
