Spring has Sprung

Spring is officially here.  I walked home one day for lunch and suddenly realized that EVERYTHING is green.  Looks pretty and new.

CDC Spring Musical

This year's CDC Spring Musical was "A Night of Nursery Rhymes" and Olivia was one of the Pigs.  

 After walking down the red carpet, each actor got to take a picture with Mother Goose herself

Mrs. Stipes - Her and Mrs. Devore have provided our girl with such a solid foundation and we are so grateful to have had such wonderful ladies in Olivia's life.  We will miss them as so much as well.

New Do's

Time for the annual Summer cuts for the Brooks' girls.  Both girls decided that they wanted to cut off quite a bit of length.  I had to talk Juliana into not going to short because with her curls she would have been sporting  jerry curl.

So Juliana took off 5 inches.

She loved it!

But Livi decided she wanted it all off.  She has been saying for weeks she wants to cut her hair like mine.  Mine is a very short bob hair cut.  She claims she wants it short to look just like me, but truth be told, she is tired of pony tails and since I won't let her wear her hair down to school she wants it chopped off!  I wasn't going to let her go so short except when we measure we found if was long enough to donate, so we went for it!

It was pretty tough getting through that long pony tail.

And there it is ladies and gentlemen. . . . . 10 inches of hair!  Doesn't she kind of look like Katie Holmes in this picture.  I think it's the hair and the cheek bones.

I'm not sure, do you think she likes it?

Yeah, still not sure if she really really likes it.

Sage Advice From Olivia

In the car and I mention how much I miss Paciugo (a gelato place we used to have in Irving) to which my 5 year old replies "yes mommy, life is full of disappointments"

Our dear sweet little niece, Isabella turned 1 year old.  I am so glad our girls will get to grow up with a cousin.  And look, she loves shoes as much as Olivia does!

Happy 13th Anniversary to us

Happy 13th Anniversary to my wonderful husband.  We make quite the team and I wouldn't trade him for the world.  He is an amazing father and my best friend.  Go me for picking the best!

Being Daring at the Dentist

Time for the dentist again.  Don't worry, this is not the dentist like you or I went to as a kid.  Going to the dentist now a days is like going to a birthday party or something.  The girls actually look forward to going to the dentist.  They usually walk out with a balloon animal, new brush kit and lots of smiles.  And from a parents prospective, we get great, friendly, consistent service.  The girls are always comfortable and in fact go back alone!  We have the best dentist ever - Dr. Melissa Rozas.  Thanks for keeping our smiles beautiful!
