Georgetown Gala!

On September 23, 2011 we had the pleasure of attending the 1st Annual Georgetown Gala to benefit Girl Power 2 Cure.

The Ad Journal

It was held at the Sequoia in Georgetown

 Beautiful sunset
 The art auction

And yes, this is Mary Amons, founder of Labels for Love and yes from the Real Housewives of D.C.  We were so honored to have her and her father attend our event.
Cassie and Brian - I can't believe we hadn't seen Cassie in over ten years!  So good to catch up!

Girl Power cupcakes donated by Georgetown Cupcakes
They were delicious and we even got to take one home!
My mom & Evelyn - having a great time!
This was the band the Silver Liners - and they were so much fun!

Crayons for writing messages to Rett Girls!
Then came the moment of surprise.  We knew that Ingrid would be sharing Juliana's story at the event.  We were so excited about sharing her story with so many people, but what we didn't know. . . . . .

Is that we were also being honored as "Outstanding Family of the Year"  We were so shocked and honored.  Truly a special moment.

 Finally enjoying that Georgetown Cupcake!
 Chatting with Mary Amons!
My college roomies!

Ingrid & Kelly you ladies rock!
This is Maisy's Awesome Family from New York!

Us with Mary - So we were a little star struck!

These were all of the amazing Rett mom's that I had the pleasure of being with that night.  It's so funny, because although I had only ever met 2 of these ladies in person, we all felt like we'd known each other for years.  It's a special kind of bond.  I'm sure we all wish we didn't have to be a part of this club, but if we have to I'm so glad to have these ladies with me.
Showing off our Girl Power Rings!
 The Rett Families now
 And now the Rett Dads!
Amy Fox - Also on the Board of Directors
 Mom & Evelyn Again!
 Mary and Ingrid

What a wonderful evening!
