Snow Day!

Well, this morning, we woke up to a beautiful blanket of white snow! It was almost magical. As you all know this is not typical for Dallas weather, but we LOVE it! Partly because it reminds us of our college days in Rhode Island, partly because it's so quiet when it snows and party because school was canceled for tomorrow. This also NEVER happens in Irving! Irving is usually the district that waits to see what all the other districts are going to do before it can decide. So our cancellations are always dead last. So to say that it was a treat to know the night before that we didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn and face the cold was an understatement.

Any who, this is a picture of the house early this morning.
This is a picture of the trees in our yard. I don't know why, but I think branches covered in snow are so cool!
So when I dropped Livi off to Mrs. West's daycare, I was totally jealous to hear of their snowball fights and snowman-making plans for the day. So I picked up the girls and when we got home I could fight the urge any longer. Juju wimped out on us and fell asleep, so Livi and I snuck out and this is what we created.
She had a ball and fell in love with her "no-man" (she hasn't quite got a handle of the "s" sound yet)
She hugged him. . . and hugged him some more. . .
And posed with him . . .
I think he was telling her a secret in this one . . .
And then she refused to come inside and leave the "no-man"
Yes, you guessed it. I ended up having to go and bring her in kicking and screaming.

  1. Oh my goodness this is so cute of Livi with the snowman. I would love a picture of her and the snowman. Looks like she has fallen in love with her first snowman. It is a world of white for sure and I believe it is God's way of slowing our world down just a little. Thank goodness for our snow day. Have fun today with those 2 wonderful girls.
