I guess you can take a teacher out of school for three months in the summer but you can't take the teacher out of me. So to help with some minor behavior issues, I decided to institute the Sticker program - meaning that anytime you do the right thing you get a sticker. For Olivia this means saying yes mam or no mam instead of whining "WHY!" and in general no using a whiny voice or throwing a fit when you don't get your way. For Juliana this means working hard and staying focused when we "play" school, eating all or most of all meals and doing a good job at therapy. So once they fill up their sticker cards (which hold 20 stickers) you get to grab a prize out of the prize jar. And what's in the prize jar, you may be asking? It's a bunch of prizes we came up with together including:
A candy bar
Picking out 1 thing at Target
Eating at the Magic Time Machine
Eating at McDonald's
Making Smores
Having an indoor camp out (yes, the Brooks' don't do outdoors too well)
Going to the movies
Dinner at Chuck E. Cheese
One hour of iPad
One hour of watching whatever you want on tv
Mani/pedi
Stay in the bubble bath as long as you want
So after a little over a week I am happy to report that both girls earned their first prize.
